      Safety filter bag
      Order number
      6.904-420.0

      Safety instructions

      DANGER

Risk of injury, explosion and damage

Observe the following safety instructions when handling the device.

      • The electrical connection (mains plug) must be made outside the hazardous area (Zone 22).

      • The included accessories are electrically conductive. Only the accessories listed in the appendix (standard accessories / special accessories) may be used!

      • Do not vacuum without filter elements in place, otherwise the suction motor will be damaged and there will be a health risk due to increased fine dust emissions!

      • Observe the safety regulations for the materials being vacuumed. During proper/improper operation, parts (e.g. air outlet) of the vacuum cleaner can reach up to 105 °C.

      • The minimum ignition temperature (MIT) of the dust cloud is ≥160 °C and the MIT of dust with a dust thickness of 5 mm is ≥180 °C.

      • The use of an extension cord is prohibited.

Behavior in the event of an emergency

      DANGER

Risk of injury and damage in the event of a short-circuit or other electrical faults

Danger of electric shock, danger of burns

Switch off the device and unplug the mains plug.

      Preparation

      1. Unpack the device and install the accessories.

      Starting up

      WARNING

Danger from dust that is harmful to your health

Respiratory sicknesses through inhalation of dust.

Do not vacuum without correctly installed filter elements, otherwise a danger to health from increased fine dust emission is present.

      Note

The device is not suitable for the vacuuming of dusts with extremely low minimum ignition energy (ME < 1 mJ),e.g. toner, mesh, aluminium powder, lead acid suitable.

      1. Bring the device into the working position and secure it with the parking brake if necessary.

      2. Plug the suction hose into the suction hose port.

      3. Check the filling level in the dirt receptacle before starting work and empty the receptacle if necessary.

      4. Attach the desired accessory.

      Automatic suction power monitor

The device is equipped with a suction power monitor. If the air speed in the suction hose drops below a speed of 20 m/s, the "vacuum pressure" indicator light flashes red (see Help with malfunctions).

      Note

The indicator light can light up intermittently during normal operation (e.g.when working with a floor nozzle) when the air quantity is reduced (cross-section reduction) and the vacuum pressure increases as a result.

      Note

In these cases, however, it is not a defect, but an indication that the air quantity has reduced and the vacuum pressure has increased, as indicated above.

      Anti-static system

Static charges are discharged through the earthed connection nozzles. This prevents sparking and electric shocks with electrically conducting accessories (included in the scope of delivery).

      Dry vacuuming

      • The unit is equipped with a safety filter bag with sealing cap, order number 6.904-420.0 (5 pieces).

      Note

All types of dust up to dust class H can be vacuumed with this device. The use of a dust collection bag (for order no. see filter systems) is required by law.

      Note

The device is an industrial vacuum cleaner for vacuuming dry, conducting, combustible dusts with workplace limit values (AGW).

      • Unused flat fold filters may only be stored and transported in their packaging (cardboard box).

      • The slats of the flat fold filter many not be touched during installation.

      WARNING

Danger from dust that is harmful to your health

Respiratory sicknesses through inhalation of dust.

Do not vacuum without a flat fold filter and safety filter bag, otherwise a danger to health from increased fine dust emission is present.

      Installing the safety filter bag

      1. Unlock and remove the suction head.

      2. Attach the safety filter bag. Pull the opening of the safety filter bag completely over the shoulder of the suction hose port.

      3. Pull the safety filter bag over the container. Make sure that the earthing foil is placed over the metal PIN on the suction hose port and that this makes contact through the PIN and the metal spring on the suction head. Insert the inner paper filter bag into the container in an L-shape.

      4. Fit and lock the suction head.

      Wet vacuum cleaning

      DANGER

Danger from dust that is harmful to your health

Respiratory sicknesses through inhalation of dust.

No dusts harmful to health may be vacuumed when performing wet vacuum cleaning.

      Installing the squeegees

      1. Remove the brush strip.

      2. Install the squeegees.

      Closing the suction connection

      1. Fit a plug exactly into the suction connection.

      2. Push the plugs in until they engage.

      3. Close the suction connection tightly with the plug by turning it clockwise.

        Note

The bayonet connection ensures a precise fit.

      Removing the safety filter bag

      • The safety filter bag must always be removed when vacuuming wet substances.

      1. Unlock and remove the suction head.

      2. Fold up the safety filter bag.

      3. Take off the protective film and close the ventilation holes with a self-adhesive tab.

      4. Pull the safety filter bag out towards the back.

      5. Seal the suction connection opening of the safety filter bag tightly with a sealing cap.

      6. Close the safety filter bag tightly with the attached cable tie.

      7. Remove the safety filter bag.

      8. Clean the container inside with a moist cloth.

      9. Dispose of used safety filter bag in dust-tight bag in accordance with statutory regulations.

      10. Fit and lock the suction head.

      General

      ATTENTION

Danger due to fine dust entering

Risk of damage to the suction motor.

Never remove the flat fold filter when vacuuming.

      • The device switches off automatically when the maximum fluid level is reached.

      • When vacuuming non-conductive liquids (e.g. drill emulsion, oils and grease) the device does not automatically switch off when the container is full. The filling level must be continuously monitored and the container emptied on a timely basis.
